Site Requirements for Shed Delivery

To make sure your shed delivery and installation go smoothly, please review the site preparation guidelines below. Proper prep not only avoids delays and extra fees, it also helps extend the life and durability of your new shed.

Clearance & Access

  • Please ensure at least 2 feet of clearance around all sides of the shed site (including fences, trees, bushes, and structures).
  • Overhead clearance should be 12 feet above ground. Remove any overhanging branches or obstacles.
  • Delivery access must be clear and obstacle-free. Our sheds are delivered in pre-fabricated panels, so stairs, narrow paths, gates, fences, or landscaping features (like arbors or carports) may cause issues. If you have tight access, let us know in advance.
  • We do not remove or trim any trees, bushes, or obstacles at the site.
  • If we arrive and access is blocked, a $150 re-delivery fee will apply.

Ground Preparation

  • The ground must be within a 3-inch slope from the highest to lowest point.
  • Please remove any rocks, stumps, roots, or debris from the area.
  • We shim up to 3 inches off the ground. If you do not like the look of a raised shed, it’s your responsibility to level the area before delivery.
  • Concrete blocks are not recommended. They do not evenly support the weight and may cause doors or windows to stick over time.

Site Not Ready?

  • If your site is not fully prepared when we arrive, and the driver waits while prep is completed, an additional $150 fee will be added to your balance.
  • If your site is not ready and we must return on another day, a $150 re-delivery fee will apply.
  • We may still deliver in light rain, but in severe weather or at the driver’s discretion, delivery may be rescheduled for safety.

Stone Pad Recommendation (Optional but Highly Recommended)

Although not required, we strongly recommend building a stone pad for your shed. It provides many long-term benefits:

  • Better drainage
  • Helps keep the shed level over time
  • Even support along the entire floor
  • Prolongs the life of your shed
  • Clean edge for mowing and trimming
  • Gives your shed a more finished, professional look

Recommended Materials & Specs:

  • Use 3/4" crushed blue stone, which naturally interlocks and compacts well.
  • Build a frame using pressure-treated lumber (4"x4", 6"x6", or landscape timbers).
  • Inside the frame:
    • Lay landscape fabric
    • Add 1"–3" of RCA (recycled concrete aggregate), compacted
    • Top with 3/4" crushed stone, compacted again
  • Make the pad at least 1 foot larger on all four sides than your shed.
(Example: For an 8'x12' shed, build a 10'x14' pad)

Crushed stone pad made out of 6"x6" timbers and filled in with 3/4" crushed blue stone.
